The seasonal occupancy of the Radisson Slavyanskaya hotel has exceeded 90%

The average occupancy at the hotel in the summer of 2021 was 90.73%, and most of the guests were tourists from the regions and neighboring countries.

In April, May, and June, the occupancy was similar. However, since these are the months of greater business activity, the accommodation prices were higher. In contrast to the previous year, the accommodation prices in July-August of this year increased. Nevertheless, they did not reach the indicators of 2019. For example, in August 2021 they were 32% higher than in 2020 but 15% lower than in 2019.

“Even though in the summer of this year, the occupancy in the hotel has been high and exceeded 90%, almost reaching the indicators of the same period in 2019, when it approached 95%, the market segmentation has completely changed: as such, there is no segment of foreign tourist groups. The main occupancy of the hotel today is tourists from the regions and neighboring countries who travel individually,”- Sergey Imukin, General Director of the Radisson Slavyanskaya Hotel.

During the traditional vacation period, in July and August, some expected tourists to travel to Moscow more actively considering the closure of the borders for a while. Thus, the load would be even greater. As for the forecasts for autumn, it is considered an active period for business hotels, therefore, the occupancy rate is planned to be high, at the level of 93-94%. But everything directly depends on the epidemiological situation.

“We understand: children have gone to schools, students to universities, people have returned from vacations, which therefore enhanced the probability of a new increase in the infection rates. However, if new restrictions are imposed, the situation will not change for the better. The example of July allows us to confidently discuss this prediction: as soon as new restrictions were introduced all events were canceled. As a result, there was a sharp drop in the occupancy in contrast to the period preceding July which was good both in terms of occupancy, and the number of events held in the hotel” - Sergey Imukin.

Currently, the sports segment, which is actively developing in Moscow during the summer and autumn months, has a positive influence on the hospitality industry. Traditionally, the construction and IT frameworks and the pharmaceutical industry are recovering the fastest.
