Kievskaya Ploshchad completes construction of the Schelkovskiy multifunctional complex

27 October 2020

Construction of a multifunctional complex in the Eastern Administrative District of Moscow, carried out by the Kievskaya Ploshchad Group of Companies, is now complete. The building, with its unique construction, located on the border between the Golyanovo and Severnoye Izmaylovo districts, combines under its roof the Central Bus Station and Schelkovskiy shopping and entertainment centre, which opens its doors to visitors on 29 October 2020.

The Schelkovskiy multifunctional complex, with a total area of more than 150,000 square metres, has five underground floors, six above-ground and a technical floor. The complex building, with its smooth contours, resembles a glass ship with a wavy, translucent facade which features a clock with a nine-metre dial.

Central Bus Station occupies the first and sixth floors of the new building. A distinctive feature of the new bus station is a unique architectural solution which has made it possible to "raise" the passenger platforms to the roof of the complex. The bus station will be able to handle up to 1,600 bus services per day, and by the end of the year, about 200,000 passengers are expected to pass through it every day. The infrastructure of the multifunctional complex is fully accessible and user-friendly for people with reduced mobility: there is a special ticket office and bathroom, and the doors and elevators are adapted to accommodate wheelchairs. On the sixth floor of the complex, there is a special recreation area for visitors with reduced mobility.

Thirty-three inspections were carried out during the construction of the Schelkovskiy bus station involving specialists from the Centre for Expertise (CEIIS), along with a set of laboratory-instrument works aimed at identifying any possible violations during construction. Earlier, Mosgostroynadzor (the city’s building inspectorate) issued a report on the compliance of the completed facility with the requirements of the project documentation.

On 29 October, the multifunctional complex will also see the opening of the Schelkovskiy shopping and entertainment centre, a modern technological complex with a wide range of services and fully developed infrastructure. The partial list of anchor tenants of the Schelkovskiy shopping and entertainment centre includes the United Network cinema (Kino OKKO, Formula Kino, Cinema Park), the Joki Joya family children's park, the World Class fitness club, Perekrestok supermarket, Technopark household appliance and electronics store, Leonardo hobby hypermarket, Chitay-Gorod bookstore, ASKONA orthopedic furniture store, Marks & Spencer clothing stores, befree, ZARINA, SELA, LOVE REPUBLIC, Helly Hanson, House, Cropp, STREET BEAT, Mother Care, Rendez-Vous shoe and accessories store, RIVE GAUCHE perfume and beauty stores, Sephora, Podruzhka, Elise and others.  In total, about 250 different tenants will operate in the centre.

As well as high-quality shopping and leisure entertainment for the whole family, the Schelkovskiy shopping and entertainment centre also contains well-known chain restaurants and cafes, cosy coffee shops and new gastronomic concepts with signature menus. Among them are Sirovarnya, URYUK, Starbucks, Cinnabon, MU-MU, Shokoladnitsa, Teremok, Black Star Burger, FARSH, KFC, Wai Mae!, Cheesemania Pizza&Pasta etc. The Schelkovskiy centre will also host a farmers’ market selling products from the largest domestic agricultural cluster, FOOD CITY.
