Central market to feed medics for free

15 April 2020

Central Market on Rozhdestvensky Boulevard, part of the Kievskaya Ploshchad Group of Companies, will provide food for health workers struggling to combat the spread of the coronavirus infection.

Free hot lunches and other foodstuffs will be sent to medical facilities in Moscow for doctors and medical personnel directly involved in treating patients infected with coronavirus. The first batch of free lunches was sent to the Sklifosovsky Emergency Medicine Research Institute today.

"At this difficult time, it is important to come together and provide a comfortable environment for medical professionals. They are now at the epicentre of the fight against coronavirus, working under extremely stressful conditions. They are the ones who need support the most. We want to encourage other catering projects, restaurants and cafes to join this movement. Now we desperately need to combine our efforts", the company commented.

Since the beginning of the self-isolation regime, Central Market has been closed to the public, but many corner retailers and shops continue to operate in contactless service for food provision. With its #thankyoudoctors support programme, Central Market has already attracted its popular outlets TreskaTs, Brownie Mama, Macha Way and the ArtDelGusto grocery store to come on board.
